Better or Worse? Inventory Update 2021

Posted by Tony K on Sep 30th 2021

Are supply chains getting better or worse?

As we approach the end of 2021 amidst another pandemic fueled economy, some things are slightly better while other categories remain suppressed.

Any product that is made, or has parts made overseas, has seen massive delays and inflated costs. Many manufacturers are now having to pay up to 10x the cost to have a container shipped from overseas. These costs are passed down to retailers and eventually, you as a consumer.

We are experiencing inventory pinches of popular items such as fishing reels, rods, ammunition along with the before-mentioned, increased costs. Ammunition manufacturers have had multiple price increases over the last 18 months.

As a consumer you will start seeing higher costs (inflation) on items you're familiar with. Unfortunately we're paying higher costs for the same product, that used to be less just a few months ago.

Waterfowl Ammunition Update: We have millions of dollars of waterfowl ammunition on order since the beginning of the year. Some is slowly "trickling" in while some has still not arrived. Waterfowl and Target loads will be extremely tough to stock this year.

Short-Staffed: Both retail locations are fighting another challenge...low staffing. We ask customers to please show patience with our employees as they are being pulled in many directions due to low staffing. (and yes, we're trying to hire more qualified people)

Bottom line, some things will remain the same while other things will be hard to get and probably cost more than we're all used too.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you!
